Nine Tray Coffer Ceiling

With a new loft addition above in the high ceiling space, many people are concerned with what the new ceiling is going to do to the look and feel of the room below. After all, when you add a new room in your high volume ceiling, you're also remodeling the room below.

A large nine tray coffer ceiling was custom designed and built into the new floor system. A true coffer is not created by lowering the ceiling about the trays. It is a structural floor system that is actually thinner, yet strong enough to avoid deflection in the new floor (no bounce). This is a formal area so the nine trays looks good. Ins some cases the nine tray is way too busy for the space.

For this Tustin home, the coffer ceiling with nine trays was a perfect custom add on.
