This is a straight-forward project of converting a high cathedral style ceiling into a new mezzanine addition with a vaulted ceiling. The ceiling below in the living room and dining room have been normalized. The before and after pictures show how normal the first floor looks even when with one step down into the new loft addition above.

This is the request of the homeowner for this high ceiling conversion in Orange County, California. Please fill in my high ceiling with a new room. 

We will be converting this vaulted ceiling space into a new and much needed bedroom addition. While we are at it we're planning to relocate the existing laundry room to the second floor as well. Yes, the chimney is coming out to take full advantage of the square footage gained.

As you might geuss, the vaulted ceiling is high but not high enough. Therefore Truplans/Truadditions are planning to raise the roof on this space as well to maximize the headroom.

That is the question for this home in San Diego County in the community of Carmel Mountain Ranch. Therefore, our design tour video shows both options. One with full two-story side to side room addition verses doing a more economical dormer room. Both will used as a new bedroom addition.

We also showed the difference between keeping the fireplace wall downstairs or removing it to make an open concept living space on the first floor.

The empty volume overhead in this nice Valencia home is going to become both beautiful and functional new space. The conversion is being planned to become a new open loft addition with some cabinet spaces. This will be a perfect hangout for the kids when its done.

Comparisons
The homeowner of this model became discouraged after searching for general contractors to quote the project. After some super high prices and long anticipated build time estimates they held off until eventually they learned about TRUADDITIONS CORP and the TRULOFT design team.
