Coffered ceilings also known as tray ceilings are excellent options to add to any new loft addition. High ceiling conversion construction projects allow the new floor system to be framed with a standard ceiling height or you can request a coffer.

This new mezzanine and bedroom addition in San Diego added the coffer option.  It is engineered so that the entire ceiling is matching the height of the existing ceiling within the home. However, the new engineered floor system results in the center of the coffer being even higher by four to six inches on average.

Obviously, a good trim and paint color selection can make your new coffer ceiling pop, a custom feature that will feature the room below the new loft.
