High ceiling conversions are sometimes referred to as loft or mezzanine room additions. The concept is quite unique. It is a room addition, but the footprint of the house on the property does not change. The open-to-below space that is available is converted to a new insider room addition. This adds valuable space that increases the value of the property by adding real square footage.
