San Diego County High Ceiling Conversion This project is definitely not a 'traditional' high ceiling conversion. While our first instinct would be to convert the entirety of their vaulted open-to-below space into new rooms, our client had other plans. They need more room, but they want to retain their high ceiling. The idea is to expand their existing bedroom - the one closest to the entrance - further out over the entryway below. This is definitely a tricky solution, but our expert design team proved it not only possible but preferrable. The existing bedroom is fairly small, so being able to push the wall back further and be able to fit the bed in the nook makes an enormous difference. You don't have to take my word for it - just watch the video, where you can watch their existing bedroom nearly double in size, all while in motion! We can't wait to begin bringing these brilliant designs to life, and neither can CALOFT. To follow this home's dramatic remodeling journey, click the button below!
