Exciting news! We have completed our open loft remodel in this Riverside home!
We converted that vacant, wasted space floating above the living room into something much more functional. This open loft serves as a play area for the family, freeing up valuable space in other areas of the home! The downstairs features a new, normalized ceiling. This results in a massive improvement in the lighting and acoustics department. Contrary to popular belief, adding a new ceiling in a pre-existing high ceiling space does NOT make the room go dark. By adding a reflective space for natural light to bounce off of, as well as adding embedded light fixtures, this makes the remodeled downstairs area MUCH easier to light adequately. As mentioned before, the acoustics are improved as well. That same new surface area that helps improve lighting also prevents the room from sounding like a cathedral.
