We have yet another two-story room addition project in Aliso Viejo that has entered the design phase. The video here is part of a series called TRULOFT CONCEPTS. We like to show the homeowners what their house will transform into by shooting both existing and proposed imagery and then merging the transitions in video. You can see a lot more of a homes potential when the 3Ds are in motion. This remodeling project is aimed at turning the vaulted ceiling into a new living space.

A high ceiling conversion room addition in Mission Viejo, California that turned empty ceiling space into a new bedroom. These are known as retrofit room additions and are sometimes called loft additions even though the room being built is not technically a loft at all. Check out the before and after conversions in this before and after video.

Often times the larger loft additions seem to be the most complicated, but end up being the simplest to design and build. You might think that the smaller loft additions would be easier. Well, this is not always the case. In fact, the smaller the space the more challenging it can become. This model was designed several different ways and we finally ended up with a unique design that utilized the highest portion of the open ceiling space while leaving plenty of high ceiling space. This design video shows this particular model home in Irvine, California yet with a lot of high ceiling remaining undeveloped.

This is what we like to see - a high ceiling space over the living room. Your high ceiling doesn't have to be a massive open-to-below space for a loft addition. 

With the space looming above, there are quite a few possibilities to behold. In our client's case, they will be receiving a beautiful open loft! 

This means they will gain more livable space, without the hassle of building out and expanding the home's footprint. A high ceiling conversion also results in added overall square footage of the home, increasing the home's value - a good factor to consider if you're planning to move further down the line!
